The majority of distributions from the Decatur City Schools Foundation have been focused on classroom mini-grants. Hundreds of mini-grants, in amounts ranging from $200 to $5,925 have been awarded since the Foundation was established, providing teachers with supplemental funds to enrich students’ educational experiences. Over $300,000 has been invested directly into classrooms through the mini-grant program to date. Examples of some of the materials and programs that have been funded through mini-grants include:
- Reading Makes Math Incredible
- Mobile Presentation System
- A phonics awareness program for EvenStart
- Investigations Continued
- Cooperative Reading Project
- From Television to Technology
- Native American Festival
