ThinkLink is an assessment tool for grades 2 through 8 given three times per year to chart the progress of students. The results of ThinkLink enable teachers to develop individualized plans for students, eliminating skill gaps by identifying problem areas and addressing them immediately. ThinkLink has been implemented in all elementary and middle schools throughout the Decatur City Schools System.
"The elementary schools in Decatur are very fortunate to have ThinkLink provided through the Decatur City Schools Foundation. ThinkLink Learning is an instructional program designed primarily to increase the amount of learning that takes place for each student during the school year. It uses formative assessments to identify each student’s progress in the areas of reading/language arts, math and science. The tests are aligned with the state course of study and the norm referenced tests required by each state. The results of the assessments provide the teachers with information as to mastery, proficiency and areas in need of improvement of state standards. ThinkLink has provided teachers another method of identifying students’ strengths and needs. The information gained from ThinkLink helps enable teachers to differentiate the instruction based on students’ specific needs."
