Since the Foundation was established, over $500,000 has been distributed to school system needs. The chart below shows the major areas where these funds have been distributed.

Classroom Mini-Grants $300,283
Major Projects $238,072

In addition to the above funds, the Decatur City Schools Foundation has facilitated other donations to the schools in partnership with many businesses and individuals within the community. These funds were designated for programs such as laptops for International Baccalaureate students, and the third grade violin program which provides 10 free Suzuki violin lessons to every third grader in Decatur City Schools.

Violin Program $33,386
Laptops for IB Students $100,000

Donation amounts last updated April, 2009.

We love to see the results achieved with the funding provided by the Foundation. The letters that we receive from the teachers and students encourage us to work even harder to provide them with more grants and sponsor more programs. We hope that they will inspire you too.
