The Foundation distributes funds for special projects and programs that provide our students with educational opportunities above and beyond the standard curriculum. The Foundation provides an ongoing and dependable funding source for additional programs and resources not covered by budget dollars. The Foundation provides an opportunity for all citizens to be involved in our children’s education.

Is the Foundation part of the School System?

The Foundation operates independently of the local school system. The Decatur City Schools Foundation is guided by a Board of Directors of local residents committed to the educational excellence and the future of our children.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. The Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, which means your contribution qualifies as a charitable income tax deduction.
