Campaign Kick Off Celebration

The Decatur City Schools Foundation recently held its Campaign Kick Off Celebration event on February 4, 2010, at Oak Park Middle School. Following a robotics demonstration by student members of the Decatur Austin Robotics Team (DART), the new campaign video was unveiled.

School and community leaders who spoke at the event included Dr. Sam Houston (Superintendent, Decatur City Schools), Rachel Poovey (Principal, Leon Sheffield Elementary), the Honorable David Breland (retired Judge), Jack Fite (Fite Building Co.), and Mr. Barrett C. Shelton, Jr. (Past Publisher of the Decatur Daily).

Allison Akins, Executive Director of the Foundation, and Ellen Didier, Foundation Board Chair, also presented an overview of the Foundation's ambitious 5-year Action Plan.
